Corie Blount

Forward, #43

The 1993 first-round draft pick played parts of four seasons with the Lakers after the Chicago Bulls sold his rights to the team during the 1995 off-season. A star power forward at Cincinnati, Blount played primarily off the bench for the Lakers but started in 18 games during the 1996-97 season. He was waived by the Lakers in March 1999 before signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Monrovia native retired from basketball in 2004.

Blount appeared as himself in the 1996 basketball-themed film “Eddie” starring Whoopi Goldberg. In 2009, Blount pleaded guilty to two felony drug possession charges and was sentenced to one year in prison.
