He was traded to the Lakers in December 1977 and averaged 4.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 55 games. The following season, 1978-79, he averaged 4.8 points and 3.6 rebounds. After a playoff game, while Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was being interviewed on national television, a naked Robisch was shown in the background.

He was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 5, 1979.

Before playing in the NBA, Robisch made a name for himself during his five seasons in the ABA (1971-76). He currently ranks third on the ABA's all-time leaders for turnover percentage (9.00) and 13th for efficiency ranking.
