The USC graduate appeared in 65 games with the Lakers during the 1992-93 season after being acquired as part of a compensation deal that allowed the Milwaukee Bucks to hire former Lakers Coach Mike Dunleavy. Cooper averaged less than 10 minutes a game and was waived days before the start of the 1993-94 season. He played one more season in Phoenix before retiring. Cooper briefly served as an interim boys’ basketball coach at Compton Dominguez High School during the 2008-09 season.
