Rice, a forward with a brilliant outside shot, was traded to the Lakers in March of 1999, and averaged 17.5 points in 25 games. The following season (1999-2000), his last with the team, he averaged 15.9 points and helped the Lakers win 67 games and an NBA championship.

He was traded to the New York Knicks in September of 2000. In his 15 seasons in the NBA, Rice was a three-time All-Star (1996, '97 and '98). He ranks eighth all-time in made three-pointers (1,559).
