Forward, #28

Signed to a one-year deal by the Lakers prior to the start of the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season, the Long Beach native and former UCLA standout saw limited playing time off the bench in his first season with the team. Kapono, who had previously played for five different teams before joining the Lakers, averaged 2.1 points per game in his first 26 games. Known primarily as a strong three-point shooter, Kapono struggled with his perimeter game in the early part of the season, averaging 29.6% from beyond the arc – well below his 43.4% career average. After appearing in 27 games, Kapono was traded to Cleveland along with teammate Luke Walton and a 2012 first-round draft pick in exchange for Ramon Sessions.
