Signed at the beginning of the 1987-88 season, Wagner averaged about four points in 40 game appearances.

A member of the Lakers' 1988 championship team, that title made Wagner one of the few players able to boast that he had played for an NBA champion as well as teams that won national championships in high school — Camden (N.J.) High — and college — Louisville.
