Signed by the Lakers in March of 1988, Tony Campbell became the first player to win titles in the NBA and the Continental Basketball Assn. in the same season. The former Ohio State standout averaged 11 points per game in his first 15 games with the Lakers despite averaging less than 16 minutes per game off the bench.

But Campbell did not sustain those numbers the following year, and the team chose not bring him back for the 1989-90 season. He signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves and went on to play six more seasons in the NBA.
