1963-64 Season

Record: 42-38, third place in Western Division

It was essentially a two-man team of Jerry West (28.7 ppg) and Elgin Baylor (25.4 ppg), but the Lakers discovered they can't win with a two-man team. How bad was most of the supporting cast? Starting center Gene Wiley averaged only 4.3 points per game.

Playoffs: The Lakers lost to the St. Louis Hawks in the first round.
