1972-73 Season

Record: 60-22, first place in Pacific Division

The Lakers rolled to another Pacific Division title and Wilt Chamberlain, in the final season of his career, led the league in rebounding and became the first player in NBA history to record a field-goal percentage above 70%, finishing at 72.7%

Playoffs: The Lakers advanced to the NBA Finals and a rematch against the New York Knicks. Relentless defense by the Knicks kept the Lakers under 100 points in four of the five games of the series as the Lakers failed to defend their title.
