1984-85 Season The Lakers won an NBA title this season

Record: 62-20, first place in Pacific Division

The Lakers won their fourth consecutive Pacific Division title and set an NBA record with a 54.5% team field-goal percentage.

Playoffs: The NBA Finals featured a Lakers-Boston matchup for the second season in a row. The Lakers were humiliated in the first game, 148-114, a contest remembered as the "Memorial Day Massacre." But the Lakers won four of the next five games as they finally defeated Boston in the NBA Finals for the first time in nine attempts.
