2006-07 Season

Record: 42-40, second place in Pacific Division

It was a tough season for the Lakers, with Kobe Bryant sitting out the first two games after off-season knee surgery, and Lamar Odom missing 21 games because of a knee injury. The Lakers were on a 7-17 skid near the end of the season before Bryant went on an amazing four-game run, scoring 65, 50, 60 and 50 points in wins over Portland, Minnesota, Memphis and New Orleans as the team squeaked into the playoffs.

Playoffs: The Lakers lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round for the second consecutive season.
