I've live here all my life and I love it. During the week I stay in Riverside (school) but I always come home for the weekend. It is safe and peaceful. A book store would be nice to have.

This place is alright, too many fast food places not enough sit down places, not as dangerous as the neighboring cities...

Compared to other areas in the USA - this area seems like you are in Latin America - just go to the local grocery stores. In a way, it feels like home. No wonder that 50% of the population was not born in the USA according to the 2000 census. People here are hard-working folks, early risers. The youth is the issue - not going many places - it is sad to see. If they could only make the most of the free education they receive...

I moved here from Compton. I liked living in this neighborhood. The street I lived on was quiet and clean. They are definitely making it more pretty all around though. I went to Fremont HS....but it's ugly on THAT side of South LA. I didn't like going to school there: ugly, dangerous environment, and it didn't seem that education was their first priority. But where I lived in Florence-Firestone, is very nice looking. Unfortunately, for HS, I had to go all the way to San Pedro St and it's so ugly there!

This neighborhood is full on South-Central, but has improved A LOT in the last few years.

It looks pretty good now, is a fun place to grow up now, and to be in.

I love this place, even though I'm not there anymore since I'm attending college on the East Coast I still miss it. Looking at the profile, the area isn't the safest, all-American place ever, but it has its own character and is slowly but surely growing into something even more amazing. I feel like its an oasis in the middle of all the crime that is South LA, although I know it has its problems too. I can't wait to be back during my next school break!

I grew up in this area and I'm one of the few that actually went all the way to graduate school and stayed. I like the neighborhood. It has gotten much better in the last 10 years with new shopping centers -- including a Starbucks! Thank you Magic Johnson! I'm hoping it continues to get better and I'll stick around to see it happen.
