Your "aura" still exist. You're still missed. It was a big deal for me to be included. And I will always remember Easter at the house, DeeDee dressed as the Easter Bunny and all the good food from Larry's side of the family. It's difficult sometimes to have to deal with tragedy, but I hope that she and the family knows that they are always in my heart. Remembering my cousin. I had the privilege of sharing a few Easters with the Remata family, and it was such a joy to see Donna entertain the children in her bunny suit. I also shared many conversations with Donna in the storeroom at div. 15. I would tease her about being so "happy-pappy" (as I would put it) all the time. That was just her way. No matter how bad you thought your situation may have been,Donna always knew just what to say to turn your frown into a smile! Again, that was just her way. You will truly be missed, Donna girl! Donna was there and got off at the next station in Simi Valley. I sat in the same spot, most of us on Metrolink had our spots. Mine was at the back of car #1, next to the door where Donna got off the train. She always had something nice to say. We did the chit chat about the weather, the weekend and the day that was behind us. My daughter had called me early in the week from college, very sad and very homesick. So at the last minute I bought a ticket and instead of going home on the train that afternoon, I flew to Colorado to see my daughter. My feelings run a mix of emotions, and I had hoped that by some miracle Donna would have been OK. My heart broke when I saw her name, and the names and faces of my other train buddies. I don't have the words that can make your hearts feel less pain, but I want to thank your family for letting me share just a short time with you. I will miss you and all the other faces and smiles on 111. To your family, she was wonderful. Be proud, she was a true good human. She trained me when I became a stock clerk at Metro 9 years ago. I had usually worked in an office environment so performing a position as a stock clerk, for me was challenging. I remember when I first met her I was really impressed by her strength, determination and dedication. She was so efficient. Everything was always so perfect. She trained me the right way and didn't cut me any slack. I recall the day that she trained me on moving the 55 gal drums of oil. She moved them like they were toys that she was playing with!..I tried to do the same but I couldn't quite do it. She kept with me until I was able to achieve it. I have always remembered that day. When she would work a double and I would come to relieve her she always had a smile on her face. I'd ask her how she was able to do it and she would smile and say that it was "no problem". She was so inspirational. Her storeroom will never be the same. Her smile and her comments 'Doll' and when you asked how she was doing it was ALWAYS 'Marvelous' will be missed by many. I'd like to share my deepest condolences to you all. I just lost my brother in '06 and my mother in '07. Both losses were unexpected. So I can say that I know how it feels. My heart and prayers go out to you. Live in her memory and remember that she will be walking with you everyday. May god be with you today and ALWAYS. She will be missed forever by so many of us. God Bless Donna and her family at this difficult time. When I first heard the news Saturday morning I was in a state of shock and couldn't believe it. I stopped what I was doing and began to cry when my son asked Dad "what is wrong" and all I could do was hug him. Always remember to tell your kids and family you love them each and every day. I had the privledge of being Donna's Supervisor when she came from Division 7 to work in Stationery. She was a awesome person and always had a positive attitude. She helped so many of us and made my job so much easier. When they transferred me it was hard for me to say goodbye to Donna and Kenney because they were my work family. I stayed in contact with Donna just because she always made me smile. Now I have to say goodbye to Donna again and it is so difficult. When I look up at the heavens above I know that Donna our newest angel is looking down on us with her smile. Goodbye Donna for now but we will meet again. God Bless. We shared the softball diamond at Banning High School in Wilmington. She was our team catcher, and had a great arm. She was a solid player that didn't talk the talk, but walked the walk. Of course discovering that Donna Remata was the same person I knew as "Donna Nieves", is a shock. From the previous descriptions of her, she had remained the same warm-spirited, enthusiastic, loving, and stable person she was way back when I knew her. To her family, I can't imagine the grief you have, but I want you to know she will always be rembered by her teammates and friends from Banning High, Class of '76. God bless the Remata and Nieves families.
