my daughter just got enrolled into this school. her scores were well above the 95% STAR scores from her school of last year. she is a bright student and well behaved but looking at these dismal scores really makes me nervous.

I have been coming to Audubon for three years and i have to say that audubon is not all what people say. The magnet students have very high test scores and the grades range from A's to B's. The teachers at Audubon are dedicated to thier jobs and really care about giving the kids a great education. This is a very nice school to send your kids to because it over achieves in many ways.

Audubon is one of the best school in the whole world. The teachers are the best people that could be there. The magnet gifted progam is the best. All of the kids work hard and get their work done. There are programs to get help if you need it.

I just want everyone to know that Audubon is no different from most middle schools in LAUSD and if truth be told we are doing better than most.Did you know that last school year three of our six grade students in the magnet won the National One Hundred Black Men Superquiz?

Here at Audubon we always try our best to succeed and that's a step that we have been proving throughout each year. The negative comments said about Audubon are false. All the teachers here are always trying to get involve in our eduaction and will never stop.

Audubon is very hard working but magnet students are better in my point of view because they work harder and tryto do thier best in everything thats why they are called magnet students

I would just like to say YES Audubon does have alot of grooming to do. I myself have checked my daughter out of this school becaues of the grading system. and yes as the other comments say the teachers do not give praise to the children when it's due. They just grade however they think without contacting the parent. Just like the previous comment said your child goes in with A's and B's and gets F's without contacting the parent. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERINCE MY DAUGHTER AND I HAD AT AUDUBON.

My children who are now in their late 20's and early 30's did very well in Audubon's Gifted Program. I realize that the times have changed, but I was their first teacher. I taught them to respect others, and try always to do their best. I let them know that the teacher is the person that has the information needed and that was the goal----to get it. Let's face it, some of us would like to drop the ball, but where does the modeling enter when we teach our children to handle issues intelligently. I have and will continue to recommend Audubon's Gifted Program. Remember you get what you put in!!!

AUDUBON IS A GOOD SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD TO LEARN HOW TO SURVIVE ON THEIR OWN.I KNOW BECAUSE I USE TO ATTEND THAT SCHOOL.I LEARNED HOW TO SURVIVE ON INSTINCTS AND I GOT PRETTY GOOD GRADES THERE.THE TEACHERS ARENT TOP NOTCH BUT IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE STREET SMART AND KNOW HOW TO SURVIVE SEND THEM THERE.

After reading many of these comments, it puzzles me. Many of the poorly written statements were from people that were not happy with Audubon. And those that were pretty satisfied made intelligent, well thought out and correctly spelled statements. So whats really going on with some of these parents and in some of these homes?
Audubon has had issues, no doubt. I went there over 30 years ago. I come back for career day. Dr. Davis is doing what he can, but there needs to be more parent accountability for bad behaving children with poor attitudes. It all starts in the home!
