I graduated from Community way back in the day and now my kids both attend (a 2nd grader and a kindergartner). The combination of the superb leadership provided by the school's savvy and caring administration and the participation of the incredibly dedicated parents results in a robust educational experience for the lucky children that attend this top-notch school!

We love Community. Both my kids are in this school and we all love it. The principle’s leadership and enthusiasm is amazing. Community is more than a school – it’s a family. The children, parents, teachers and staff all work together as a team for better education and success.

Community Magnet is an amazing school. My child started in the Fall. My child has grown immensely scholastically and emotionally. The school is truly a community. Older students read/teach the younger students and parents/grandparents tutor students on the school campus to ensure no child is left behind. The families are involved in the school and it makes the school what it is today. Test scores do show important information; but a school’s staff/teachers/parents are what truly make a child grow. THANKS COMMUNITY!

My daughter is currently a student at CMCS. What makes this school exceptional is three factors.

First is the leadership of Pam Marton who is an excellent principal. She is a great motivator and has a special talent for utilizing her parents to the best of their abilities.

The second factor is the parents of all different backgrounds and skill sets who come together to meet the challenge of filling in the gaps left by cuts from the district.

The third is a mentoring program developed at CMCS to address the individual needs of each student. The results can be seen with each student and overall in the consistent rise in test scores.

Great school. We were lucky enough to win the lottery literally for kindergarten. Our son is there in first grade now. The teachers are incredibly committed and knowledgeable. There is a chance I will need a tutor to keep up with my son's curriculum. And the diversity is an education in itself. But really, it all comes down to leadership. Pam Marton the principal, is tireless, with boundless passion, insight and just enough humor to keep this highly unusual public elementary school on course, always moving toward excellence in all areas.

I am so thankful that my son gets to be a part of something this awesome. I can't think of anything that needs improvement. As far as I am concerned, Community is perfect!

My daughter just started at Community Magnet this year and it has been amazing.... she loves going to school. She has learned how to read in kindergarten and she is doing so much... She blows me away with how much she has learned and how excited and proud she is of herself. I love the school! The staff is amazing and the Principle does so much to keep the kids happy. Great overall experience!

The only drawback at Community is that it ends in fifth grade! Can we do something about that? We started in the first grade and while we knew the academics were going to be strong, we continue to be blown away by the teaching methods. More importantly, our son has grown as a person and is learning to interact with others better, as he is innately a little shy. This is in thanks to all the dedicated and caring teachers at Community.

We have two sons who have graduated and two sons currently in the school. Our family has been at Community since 2001 and we will have a child there through at least 2015.

I can directly attribute our boy's middle school academic success to the educational foundation they received at CMS.

From the tireless Pam Marton and the administrative team to the amazing and passionate teachers, the dedicated TA's and school staff --

Community has been an incredible school experience for our family and we are truly grateful for it.

Community is all about the parents, teachers and principal who have designed the most creative, supportive, fun and challenging environment for who?! The kids--It's all about the kids. And when there are smart happy kids, there are happy parents and when there are happy parents, the principal can always lean on them to do the great things she needs to keep a beautiful vision in motion. The only question is, where do we go from here?!

Sssshhhhh! Best kept secret in the city.
One of my sons just moved on to a very demanding school after Community and is doing very well. Current 2nd grader is having a very engaging and supportive learning experience. Love the teachers, aides, office staff, diversity, and great principal. And the location- fuhget about it!
