Nine comments about Miguel Contreras Learning Complex

I'm a student at this school. I'm a freshmen but so far i'm loving it. All the teachers are really fun. They really seem to connect with all students. I'm even enjoying math. Which i hate! But everyone is really nice, the only thing thats a downer is that its very crowded. But overall. Amazing School. =]

I'm a former student of MCLC's Business & Tourism's Academy. I was one of the first many students to enroll there. The first time I saw it, I was in shock. It was so amazing! The classrooms are awesome. The teachers are great and they really help you there. They care a lot about you. I can’t wait until I’m a parent so that my children will one day go there!!! I am so glad to say that I went to that school. B&T RULES!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so glad I attend this school. Don't listen to all you hear. Test scores aren't everything.I'm daily challenged by my teachers and hopefully I will attend UCLA after next year.

MCLC is so awesome. The buildings look great and I am taking classes for college. There's NO WAY this school is worse than the schools I came from. In fact, this school is the best. We have teachers that really care like Corpas, Grounds Rickter and Brennaman. I think its just because we are in a poor area that they keep picking on us.

I am an alumni from MCLC and the knowledge I received from the staff and teachers is unforgettable. I graduated in 2008 and the majority of the class got accepted to Cal States and UC's with the help of all the teachers. Even though some of the teachers are just starting their career, those are the teachers I learned the most of because they always showed the passion they had for you to learn. Test scores should not be the judgment of how good or bad a school is, but how many students are actually graduating and accepted to four-year universities.

I think these comments only further support the fact that this school is one of the worst in LAUSD. I came here for 2 months and their schedule had 9 periods, each well under an hour. The teachers lacked the knowledge that they needed to be able to have their students learn anything. Don't get me wrong, the staff care about you because they are from the same poor area that the students have grown up, but they lack the overall goal of educating the students to shape better people. This is just another school that is going to the gutters.

Miguel Contreras Learning Complex is a great school. The teachers are like family they help you out in academics and also in personal problems.I have seen in other schools that teachers don't take the time to help their students but at MC you can count on the help. This school is like my second home I feel safe and I could always count on anybody. I have seen that all the academy's are united and no one is left out. I enjoy the milieu and everyone in there.
