I have been a teacher at Montague for 14 years. Each year we are growing and improving. That is the beauty of being in education...each year we are all learning, researching and experimenting ways to improve.
Our school is 100% free lunch and many of our students are living below the poverty level. (I do not know the exact statistic at this time.) We are teaching children who struggle with more than just their homework...The children are very aware of their family's financial situation. Often there are 8 or 9 year old kids taking care of families while their parents are working multiple jobs to make ends meet.
Our school is not just a bunch of statistics...it is a community. Many of the teachers bring their own children to our school. You can feel the sense of family on our campus. Please visit our school anytime to see what is happening there. You will see that actions speak louder than statistics!
