This so called "hidden gem" PV school is driven by highly competitive, ex-math teacher principal that doesn't pay enough attention to anything other that scoring as high as possible on API tests at the end of the year. Be aware that math here is dominant over other subjects pushing kids to learn from additional experimental math books & programs added on top of the state required math program.
Most of the parents here know this ugly fact but they pretend like it doesn't bother them. Frustrated by this, they end up paying extra money for after school tutoring programs trying to help their kids to keep up with this highly competitive school environment.
Unfortunately for many kids, most of them are acting very edgy & stressed out, feeling isolated from other kids in the neighborhood.
