I think he felt like that was the branch that best represented his feelings about wanting to do his duty for the country. One thing about Aaron – when he made up his mind, he fulfilled his goals.
— Michael Allen , father, on Allen's decision to join the Marines
After his enlistment ended in March, Allen planned to attend a fire academy, family members told the Associated Press. The day before he died Allen sent his girlfriend orange tulips and they spoke on the phone. After he was killed by roadside bomb in Iraq, she said, had she know it was their final call, "there are millions of things I would have said."

It's just like the LA Times and the Associated Press to choose what sounds like a diminishing statement from Aaron's mother about the war. Aaron served with distinction, died with honor ... and his parents can be proud of Aaron's service to our country. Aaron was among the Marines who helped win the war in Iraq. God Bless you, Cathy, and the entire Allen family. You have our deepest respect.

As an American living in New Zealand I read the living tribute to the wonderful human being your Aaron was to those who loved him and as an amazing and fearless Marine. May God bless him and all those who were lucky enough to know this courageous class act of a man!
May God Bless America the most wonderful nation on Earth. Then, now and always!
R.I.P Aaron you were a hard act for all of us still here to follow.....

My heart goes out to the loved ones and family of Aaron. Although I do not know this young man, please know that his efforts to protect our freedoms don't go unappreciated. All I can say is that I cry for Aaron's family and I honor this noble and brave man who gave his life for our great country.

I did not know Aaron personally but do know many of the Marines listed here. I was stationed with many Marines at Camp Pendleton as a Corpsman, My heart goes out to Arrons family, I always hear how I'm a hero for serving. I tell them the true heros are those who did not return.I served and retired in 2005, and very lucky to tell about it. If your listening from above Arron... Semper Fi my friend.

I met Aaron when i first got stationed at Kings Bay. I have a lot of good memories with Aaron. The best one was on my birthday night. Me and a bunch of buddies where going out to the club for my birthday and we where all drinking in the room before we had left Aaron stopped by to wish me a happy birthday and everything he knew i had to go to the range first thing in the morning. So after the club i come home and go in my room and every piece of uniform i have was tied in a knot and hidden from me and my room was destroyed i had to wake up in an hour to go to the range and i could not find my badge. well after getting yelled at and being late for not having my badge i found it hanging on the ceiling fan as the fan was going around. Ill never forget. hahah I miss you buddy and hope to see you one day.

Our entire family loved Aaron, our neighbor, our handsome buddy who always made us laugh.  Not a day goes by that we don't think of him.  We feel blessed to have had Aaron in our life, even if it was for just s short time.  I pray for his mother, sister and fiance, that they may find some comfort in knowing Aaron is with God, watching over all of us, and dancing in Heaven like he did at the Mav.  We love you Aaron and the Allen Family!!!!

I had the privilege to serve with an amazing man. I will forever love him like a brother; I will never forget what a truly inspirational and motivating person that Aaron was. He definitely knew how to bring a smile to all of those around him.
I could, and will, forever talk of how great a person Aaron was. God bless you, Allen Family my prayers are with you. Aaron will never be forgotten.

There is not one single day that goes by that I do not think of my beloved friend. I consider myself blessed that he attended my wedding, flying in from Georgia, knowing how hard it was to get leave in the military. Aaron, we were robbed, of a son, a brother, a friend, a confidant. I feel at peace, knowing that you are in heaven protecting us all from harm. I miss you beyond words. You will never be forgotten.

I first met Aaron when he was an instructor for a small unit leader course my unit had. From the moment I met him I knew I wanted to be his friend. He was so funny. Then We lived together in the squadbay. We used to talk about how we should have been able to live on our own. We shaved next to each other, brushed our teeth next to each other. Living in a squadbay was that much brighter with him there

Aaron was one of the best people i have ever met while i was in. We met a few days before going to bootcamp. I watched him say goodby to his family and together we compleated our training. From the yellow foot prints to the EGA cerimony. This man was always there to create a smile or make someone laugh. He worked harder than anyone. Our honor grad and our leader. A born leader. I speak for anyone who had the chance to meet him and the entire Marine Corps when i say all of us would have taken his place if we had the choice. But now we know it's in gods hands. And this wonderful man is now one of gods greatist angels. Guarding the golden streets. And is finally home and at peace... To the Allen family... I love you all. Your all in my prayers and thoughts every day. Stay strong and be proud. I know i am. Take care.
