Wherever he was, he was always trying to make somebody laugh.
    — Robin Butterfield, mother

Another soldier in Butterfield's unit wrote to his family that Butterfield died while trying to prevent a suicide bomber from detonating a gasoline tanker filled with explosives.

tony treated me with respect and kindness and had a natural ability to make those around him happy. it is tragic that humanity is without the person that he would have continued to grow into.

Tony left a lasting impression on the people he met. He wore his emotions on his sleeve and showed people how much he truly cared. 4 years have passed and not a moment has gone by where we don't think about his dedication and loyalty to not only his family but his country. Although his family is beatin and broken from this loss, we have all found a way to smile in his memory. We love you Tony

Tony was my older cousin, but he was also my best friend. He was always trying to make people laugh and smile. Not a day goes by that i don't remember a memory of our time together. He made a great sacrifice.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! For your sacrifice, words do little to describe our sincere gratitude. However, There is a hope for a future where such wonderful people will not have to die in the wars of the world. ISAIAH 2:4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore....REV 21:3,4-"death will be no more"
