He believed in the values of the Army and in the mission of what he was doing in Afghanistan.
    — David Piercy, brother in Fresno Bee

Piercy died July 19 in Arghandab River Valley, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. His family told the Fresno Bee that Piercy was 30 days from completing his second tour of Afghanistan and planned to move back to California from their home in North Carolina near Ft. Bragg. He was the seventh graduate of Buchanan High to be killed in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the most deaths from any one high school in the state.

Brian F. Piercy was married to my daughter Christina and Brian was a very beloved son-in-law. I will miss him always and will always appreciate his fine character and love of this great country, U.S.A. I had many fun times with my son-in-law and only pray that his sacrifice will always be remembered and appreciated by all Americans!

I didn't know you personally, but as most Americans would say, thank you! Because of brave soldiers like you we get to live freely in this great country. I wish I would have had the opportunity to shake your hand and tell you how much I appreciate your service and the service of all of our military. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends and all who have given their lives for our freedom.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! For your sacrifice, words do little to describe our sincere gratitude. However, There is a hope for a future where such wonderful people will not have to die in the wars of the world. ISAIAH 2:4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore....REV 21:3,4-"death will be no more"
