He said, 'Dad, I'm not going anywhere, I'm not doing anything with my life,' We come from a long line of military...All of us when we left home, we gravitated toward it.
— Chuck Palmer, father
Palmer enlisted for the first time in 1992 and served four years. He reenlisted in 2005. In a letter to the Marine Corps explaining why he wanted to return, he wrote that he had never found another job "equal to the Marines."

The above is a rough translation of Marlon Colville Heron's comment from Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. They are expressing their gratitude and respect for the soldiers how have lost there lives during this war. They do not condone the war, but respect the warriors who have fought it, and feel for the families that have lost loved ones. I have great admiration and respect for all the fallen soldiers and for Marlon Colville Heron who not even an American understands the great sacrifice all soldiers and their families make for freedom.
