Hi Baby, another difficult day to face without you here. I never thought that Memorial Day would be in memory of you, my dear, sweet, beautiful son. It's been 1 yr, 11 mos and 5 days...so close to 2 yrs that I cannot bear the thought.
We honor you by flying the flag every day and we will place your American Heroes Tribute banner for all to see tomorrow. Of course, we will cry more tears and maybe find a smile or laugh as we remember your deep voice, great smile, joking sense of humor and the love you showed to us.
Our hearts are forever empty and broken without you.

You are without a doubt an insperation to both me and every Marine I teach. Even though I have left ANGLICO I carry your message with me forever. Here in MARSOC I tell those of your sacrafice and carry it with me everyday. Outside of that for every marathon and Ironman I run I use your name and memory to push me through the end. Every night before bed Anna asks God to give her Chrissy and her Papa a hug from her and to let them know she misses them.
Chris, we miss you so much - your smile, your laugh, your hugs, and your time with Anna. It doesn't have to be a Memorial Day or any other holiday to remember you. You are on our minds and hearts daily. What you accomplished in such a short amount of time in the Marines is nothing short of admirable! We miss you so much and long for heaven when we can all be together again.

Chris - Our family will never forget all the great memories we had with you. It was a pleasure having you spend time with us if it was at the dinner table or on vacation. Chris-Although we were never able to meet you face to face we feel we have known you for years. We prayed for you before you became a Marine, while you trained and then served and sadly made the ultimate sacrifice. We love your Mom and Dad and through them we now love you, too. Chris, you are that hero. Not because you died, but because you lived!

Cpl. Leon was my first mission as part of the PGR. I was Honored to escort him and stand in the hot sun as Military Honors were rendered. It was not met with a dry eye. Though I never met him he is my Brother and I feel his loss.
I cary his memorial Dog Tag on every mission I attend. I once showed it to his Grand Parents on a later mission and as they touched it we shed a tear together. I know my words cannot balm the pain his family feels every day. Please know we owe our freedom to Chris.

Jim and Kat Leon and Grandparents, Thank you for having such a great son. We remember him often as Chris was our first mission with the Patriot Guard. I remember his Grandfather shaking our hands and thanking us for being at his Grandsons funeral service, and it should have been us thanking the Leon family for giving their son to die for OUR FREEDOM. We have Christopher' dog tags and wear them on the missions we go on. We want Jim and Kat and all the family to know that we will NEVER FORGET the sacarfice their wonderful and great HERO son has given for OUR FREEDOM. The days ahead will still hurt and you will long to hold Christopher again, and you will some day in heaven. I am sure Chris is having a long talk with Jesus about now. Remember he said he was on a first name basis with Jesus. So keep your faith and we will pray for you all often that Jesus will continue to Bless you and give you peace in your hearts.

i feel as if i met you today chris, altho in reality ive never even seen your face. just reading all these wonderful things about you makes me feel as if i know you. it breaks my heart to know that you are gone, but i thank you with all of my heart for what you have done not only for me, but for everyone else here. such a brave thing, something i could never bring myself to do. your family was lucky to know you, to love you, to watch you grow. i hope someday to get to meet you in heaven and thank you again for your wonderful bravery and strength.

Chris, Though I never met you, I felt as though I had today. You mom was so open and it showed how much she truly loved you. I know it was hard for her in many ways, yet she shared you with open arms with me. I stopped by today on the anniversary of your sacrifice for US.
