He didn't like to be sitting around when his Army brothers were out there fighting. He was worried about his friends.

Two memories of Christopher D. Rose
I went to elementary and junior high with chris..I remember him coming over or all of us getting together going out as kids..getting ready to enter our high school years. I never would of imagined someone so close to me would become a casualty in this war, even when I joined the Marine Corps my junior year of high school. We had lost touch throughout our high school years, but unfortunately there was no chance to catch up, because out of no where i received a call from another old friend telling me what had happened. Chris was definately the most caring out of my group of close guy friends. He was open about his emotions and genuinely cared about how his friends were feeling or doing. Its so hard to find friendship like that now a days but I had that with him. Due to my training schedule, I was not able to go to Chris's funeral..and I know the feeling of losing a close member of the family in an abrubt manner, so I do extend my deepest condolences and pray that his family's pain is comforted by his loving memory that will forever last.
Your friend,
Steve Rodriguez
