Everyone got to see the changes as he went from a boy to a man. It was fun to be with him. He liked to have a good time, to have a beer and relax.

Brehm had done three tours of Afghanistan and was on his third in Iraq. When he was killed, he was due to leave Iraq in three weeks. He served in the same unit as Pat Tillman, the former NFL star who was killed in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan.
