i met dennis right before he passed when he was in california we chilled a couple of times he was real cool i could tell he had a good future ahead of him
SGT Dennis Sellen was the gunner for my guntruck in Iraq. He had always shown dedication and committment to his team and the Army, and became a true inspiration not only to his peers but also his leaders.
Sellen and I wanted to join the military since we were kids, he loved the Band of Brothers series from HBO, leading from the front was just the kind of guy he was.
Dennis was cool guy ! we were in ROTC at J.F.K high. HE is my hero, RIP DOG! love u man
Sellen and Tan would always annoy me to the point of tears each and every mission. Night after night they would sing in make jokes about every little thing until I would just give up being "Will" and just sing and laugh with them. "BEEP"
We live in the greatest civilization ever known to man. Of the millions whom have recognized this country to be there home, You will be forever known amongst our highest ever honored. You had the talent too be a successful singer performer...The next big name. Instead you gave up a lifestyle to grant my children the chance to contribute to this great civilization. I believe we are a great because of people like yourself. I need no bracelet on my wrist to remind me of that. It was my duty to serve with you but it has been an honor to have known you.
SGT Sellen,or SPC Sellen as i knew him, was my neighbor in the barracks area we were rooming ("pods"). we would bang on the walls, making music beats in the middle of night, making our roomates mad; we would hear eachother laughing while our roomates yelled at us. I'll never forget the last thing i told him the night of his passing. "we goin to the gym or what!?, he smiled as he always did and told me he'll meet me there. rest in peace my brother, love you.
I graduated with Dennis in high school and also we ended up in the same basic training battalion at Fort Benning.
I miss him and I always will.
