The Department of Defense has reported that Apineru, died on July 2, 2007, in Al Anbar province, Iraq, of wounds sustained while supporting combat operations on May 15, 2005. A full Times obituary to follow.

My heart aches for the rest of my life loosing you. I wished the clock could be turned back; things would've been different. I love you and will miss you terribly. My heart has always been with you and you have taken it with you, therefore it's always gonna be with you. Time will heal my pain and i know you are helping me spiritually to get through it.
