Francisco Abraham Martinez Flores

Francisco Abraham Martinez Flores, 21

Despite what people say that this war is about business or is about oil, I know that my son went to Iraq for liberty and to end suffering.
— Martha Martinez, mother
Martinez Flores came with his family from the Mexican state of Jalisco at age 3 and was two weeks away from becoming a U.S. citizen when he died. He was awarded citizenship posthumously. In 2003, a post office in Duarte was renamed in his honor.
