Gavin was one of those kids who always brought a smile to your face, and he always had a smile on his. He was more of a quiet guy, but a funny guy when you got to know him.
    — Hal Dillashaw, assistant wrestling coach in the Modesto Bee

Brummund died June 10 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was one of eight members of the Bret Harte High School Class of 2006 to enter the service together, according to the Modesto Bee, and the first the first service member from Calaveras County to die in Afghanistan or Iraq since the wars began there.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! For your sacrifice, words do little to describe our sincere gratitude. However, There is a hope for a future where such wonderful people will not have to die in the wars of the world. ISAIAH 2:4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore....REV 21:3,4-"death will be no more"
