Geovani Padilla Aleman, 20

He didn't go there to fight, he went there to heal. He was just very intelligent, he was my role model.
— Salvador Padilla, cousin
Padilla Aleman was born in Guadalajara and grew up in Boyle Heights and South Gate. In high school he was an exceptional student, even though he never seemed to study that much. He was trained as a combat medic.

2 memories of Geovani

I to am in the U.S. military serving in a medical command. I did not know Geovani but I understand when it is mentioned that he went there to heal. I've been to Iraq and seen these outstanding youg men and women in action caring for the wounded and I must say that it is an honor serving along side with them. You will be missed not only by your immediate family and friends but also by your military family. My prayers will always be with you brother.

Geovani is one of my friends I would never forget. He was always there when I needed him. He had his mind set on joining the Navy right after high school. I know he wanted to do something with his life and I am so proud of everything he has done. He will always be in my mind and prayers. I will never forget you Geo!
