Garcia's mother said that after his death she felt so devastated she wondered if she could go on living. Then she received a message he had written the day before he was killed. 'I felt like he was embracing me,' she said. 'He told me, ‘I’m OK, I’m fine.’'

Jair was a very special person- my great memories of him is when he would pick up my mother(his grandmother)just like a rag doll. I will miss seeing him do that. We will all miss you very much.

Our prayers are with the family of Pvt. Jair de Jesus Garcia My son Pvt 1st Class Raymond D. Hessbrook was stationed and deployed along with Pvt . Garcia. We will miss those goodtimes we shared at our home and all the laughter and goofyness he brought into our lives.

You were my rock brother. I never would have made it through basic training without you. You are one of only a few that I call brother and more importantly my best friend. Wow, I think around this time last year was the last time I saw you. Jair, there still isn't a day that something doesn't remind of you. This weekend, we'll be play B&G, and I'll have you in my thoughts. I miss you man! See you one day.
I went to basic training with jair. he was in my platoon, and was one of the only guys who took his job seriously. jair was a natural leader who helped other guys. I remember him actually having guys break down and cry on his shoulder. He helped everyone. we had agreat connection being two of the older guys in the platoon. we talked about life, and laughed alot. I am completely heartbroken at his loss. My prayers go out to his family and child. He wanted to come to fort irwin with me. I wish he would have. I will see him again someday in paradise. Miss you bro.
I had the privilege of knowing this soldier not only did he take care of his fellow battles but he lived his life.. This guy would always make you crack up .. He was a good man I never regret meeting him and the goodtimes we had..

Jair was a very special person. He always knew how to make everyone laugh and he enjoyed that. He knew exactly how to light up the room with his presence. At times he led me to believe that he had life all figured out because of the way he lived his life. Jair will be forever missed.

The first day I met you, you came into the room wearing an afro wig, spitting all sorts of game about UCLA football. I'll never forget that day. You made everyone in the room crack up! I thought about you on this Veterans Day...your sacrafice is one I will never forget. You are thought about and will never be forgotten.

I was searching for those personalities with the name Jair. Picture of this impressive and handsome man in full US army attire just appealed me. When I clicked on the picture I got to read the sacrifice of his life in the war in Afghanistan. It was a sad and untimely demise. I pray in Jesus name that may the mighty Lord God continue to take care of his son and family and rest his soul in peace.
Happy Birthday, Jair! I miss you. And I'm sure many of us miss you as well. Till we see each other again!
