He was a good student and worked hard at everything he did. As an athlete, he wasn't the most gifted, but no one had more determination. He was a kid I would love to have as a son.
    — Shawn Murray, assistant football coach

Hubbard joined the Marines with his best friend, Jeremiah Baro, who was killed in the same attack. Three years later Hubbard's younger brother, Nathan, died in Iraq in a helicopter crash.

I was getting ready for another long day at work, reading some news, when I came across this site and saw your face and read your story and of your brother. You both look so young. All American boys. I cried hard for about five minutes. My days are much brighter because of the great sacrifice of you and your brothers. The people who love you, and a nation that loves you will never forget you. Thank you for the ultimate price you paid to our country!

Myself, along with the entire class of 2001 want to thank you, along with our other fellow Buchanan High Alumni who gave their lives so we can live out each day without fear or worry. Every one of you represent what I can only strive to be. I am so thankful for the freedom and lives we lead due to the sacrifices you gave. Your service and time spent on this planet will be praised and never forgotten...Thank You so very much.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! For your sacrifice, words do little to describe our sincere gratitude. However, There is a hope for a future where such wonderful people will not have to die in the wars of the world. ISAIAH 2:4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore....REV 21:3,4-"death will be no more"

I thank all three of you for your sacrifice. I never had the pleasure of meeting Jared, Jeremiah or Nathan but there deaths had a profound impact on me. I have looked at the pictures of Jeremiah and Jared from high school, boot camp graduation and there second tour in Iraq and I am so proud of the great men they became. While they had a very short time here on earth, they touched so many people and have had a lasting impact on many lives. Semper Fi.

My dear friend Jared...where do I begin? There is an endless amount of good things to say about this beautiful young man I knew growing up. I wasn't the most popular kid in school. My family didn't have money and I certainly wasn't the trendiest girl around. None the less Jared was my good friend. He taught me something priceless that I have held onto for years and will never forget. It doesn't matter where you come from, how much money you have we are all gods children. Even as a young boy he had one of the most beautiful souls I've ever known. I miss you so much...thank you for the love and friendship you gave to everyone around you. Rest in peace
