He would never hang up the phone without saying he loved me. He left nothing unsaid. I hear all about how he was a great soldier, but he was also a great man.
— Theresa Cunningham, widow
A combat medic, Cunningham was awarded the Air Force Cross for his efforts to save 10 wounded comrades despite his own fatal wounds. He was raised in New Mexico but considered his home Camarillo, where his wife was from and where they planned to settle.

Eight memories of Jason D. Cunningham
The years have past, the pain of your lost has not lessen. You will never be forgotten. "That others may live."
If we only had more men like Jason.
I don't know this soldiers as I'm just visiting the website. I thank him and his family for his dedication to our county. Thank you for keeping America free and protecting our beliefs. It's because heroes like you my very young daughter will be able to live freely in this wonderful country. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Many your memory never be forgotten. RIP
Knew both Jason and Theresa back in Naples IT. Heck Jason was my roommate until we moved into the new barracks. He was a hell of a guy and a true friend.
I feel bad that I lost contact with both of them.
The years have passed but Jason will never be forgotten and will always be missed.
I was only 12 when I was at your memorial service. My father, a retired PJ, brought me out to New Mexico for the reunion that year. Your bravery will forever be in my mind. You are my inspiration as I train to be a PJ. I Pray all is well with your family.
He is not forgotten.
37 years ago you were born, 16 years ago you were married, 10 years ago you were gone. You will always be remembered.
