All she could do was tell me how she loved it over there. She knew she was making a difference.
— Candy Gholson, mother
Cole's mother said military officials said her daughter was accidentally shot by another soldier while the two were cleaning weapons. She had enlisted after her mother sold the Vallejo, Calif., flower shop where Cole had worked for more than a decade. "She thought this would be a good time to serve her country," her mother said. "It was a surprise to me."

I AM FROM MEXICO CITY, I FEEL SORRY AND IT IS A TERRIBLE LOST FOR HER FAMILY I HOPE THIS WAR ENDS SOON.
To think that a mother has to lose both her husband and her daughter within a two month span is a horrid thought to think about. I'm not sure many could understand the pain Candy Gholson must be feeling.
I pray the comfort of the LORD upon you Candy. There are many things we do not understand in life, but, one thing we can know, that Jesus is still with us, even when we face trials. The bible says in Romans 8:28,that, We know that ALL things work together for those who love the LORD,to those who are the called, according to His purpose. May God bless you and your family at this time.
jen and i were great friends in school iwill always have her in my heart.
I'm sorry for the loss of your daughter. Your daughter fought the fight so that others could have a better life. The bible in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 says "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. There is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day. May the Lord grand your daughter the crown she deserves for the good fight she has fought.
God Bless you and your family.
