It was stuffed with chocolate-flavored protein powder, Air Heads candy bars, gum, Italian panettone bread, special almonds and the last note I sent to him. It said, 'Hey, Matty, I finally found those almonds you like.'

Ferrara held dual U.S. and New Zealand passports and was the nephew of New Zealand's defense minister. He graduated from West Point in 2005. He was the third South High graduate to be killed in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
