He was real excited about that. One of the last things he said to me was 'I love you, Mom.' I told him to be careful.
— Kimberley Creed, mother, on her son's call saying he'd be home in 45 days
Creed had made plans to buy his first new car. His dream was to become a policeman. He had asked for combat duty to gain experience.

Six memories of Matthew W. Creed
May you know peace Matthew, may your family know solace in your absence and may you all one day know the joy of reunion in the hereafter.
-A fellow Charger
One thing i do remember about Matt in High School is that he seemed always happy, always had a smile on his face.
He was a great man in and out of high school. A group of us chargers joined the army out of high school and he is a driving force for me as I continue on in my army career. I have his hero bracelet I wear as a reminder everyday.
another fellow charger here to say thank you Matthew, for your bravery and dignity. Covina will miss you dearly.
Matt was great! We went to kindergarten thru high shcool toghether and he always greeted me with a smile. We reconnected a couple months before his death by exchanging emails catching up with each other. He was so proud to be married and was so happy to be coming home within a month.....
His funeral was impressive and very sad, because he was so young. Hearing the news was a shock, and I will never forget him. <3
Thank you Matt for you will always be my hero and thank you God for allowing me to have Matt as long as you did. I cannot wait til we meet again and wonder what you have been up to all these years. With love my son and until then......
