Don't pray that I come home soon. Pray that the people that are causing us to stay out there can see the light and change their ways without harm coming to them first.
    — Micah S. Gifford, on his MySpace page

Gifford enlisted after the 2004 terrorist beheading of American contractor Nicholas Berg, which was seen in a videotape distributed on the Internet. He told his mother it didn't feel right to sit home.

I found this page when I searched my name on Google. At first I thought it was pretty cool that there was someone with the same name as me (same middle initial even!)but know that I've actually read about him, I am truly sorry to hear of his death. I never met him but I thank Micah very much for giving his life to help protect the freedoms of myself and all Americans! Only someone who is close to a saint could say what he did... a truly inspiring quoute from a truly inspiring person. His family will be in my prayers.

I went to school with Micah,

He needs to be remembered for what he chose to do for his country.

I am proud that I knew him. I wish I had known him better.

And to his brother, I wish you the best for you and yours, and thank you for serving as well.
