A veteran of the first Gulf War, Jimenez was killed during his third deployment to Iraq. He had assured his daughter that it was the last time he would be going to war.

Oscar will never be forgotten. He was an inspiration to me from the day I shook his hand. He was a family man and a good friend to all.
To the Jiminez family, thank you for supporting him and letting him continue doing what he loved. My prayers and best wishes go out to all of you.

Oscar is a true hero to all of us! He was always there for me. No doubt that all who served our country are Heroes but the one person who has made an impact in my life is my brother Oscar and HE is MY HERO!!
It's a pleasure to know that Oscar and I both are brothers of Gamma Zeta Alpha. We miss him very much, and his family is always in our prayers.

I am truely sad. I have been looking up old 11th Marine buddies I served with in the Gulf War and Oscar was one of them. I had looked forward to hearing from him and sharing the news in our lives when I came across this after seeing his photo. Oscar was a great freind and I'll miss him and the oppurtunnity to catch up things. He became an officer!! Semper Fi my friend...

Oscar was a great brother and I loved him very much. He truley had the purple heart of a prince, and a couragous heart for his marines. Semper Fi in heaven Oscar Amen.

I know this is a too late. I saw the article on the UT. (on S.D.'s fallen 12-17-11) I do have to say I had the great pleasure of meeting Oscar. We were good friends at Muirlands and La Jolla High. Then known as Lupe Pantoja. Oscar was a great person and a great friend. This just proves Oscar was destined for great and bigger things. I always knew Oscar was going to be a star and a hero. My prayers to his family.

It took awhile, but I now have brought myself to say, my brother you are missed, an officer like you will always shine thru, a man like you will always leave a hallow. Devil Dog you are a true hero giving your all and leaving a family for the needs of your country, I thank you for your courage and I honor your commitment, SEMPER FI!!
My condolences to the family. Please be comforted by the hope of the resurrection at (John 5:28, 29). Just imagine bolding your love one again , on a new earth where there will be no more sickness nor death.
