People work their whole lives trying to find a job they love that much, and Preston found it at a young age.
    — Heather Dennis, wife

Dennis, 23,was killed April 28 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using an improvised explosive device, according to military officials. His mother told his hometown newspaper, The Record Searchlight, that her son, a squad leader, forfeited additional time home to return for a second deployment out of loyalty to his men.

As one of Preston's teachers, I will remember his enthusiasm for life and the kindness he gave to everyone who knew him. Preston's warm and outgoing personality had such an enormous effect on our campus. He was a good and brave young man, and my heart goes out to his family.

I don't have a memory to share, but I hope Dennis' family and friends will except my condolences. If you read Revelation 21:3,4 it will give you a wonderful hope for the future.

    Song 111
    He Will Call
    (Job 14:13-15)
    1. Life, like a mist, appears for just a day,
    Then disappears tomorrow.
All that we are can quickly fade away,
    Replaced with tears and sorrow.
If a man should die, can he live again?
Hear the promise God has made:
    (Chorus)
    2. Friends of our God, though they may pass away,
    Will never be forsaken.
All those asleep who in God’s mem’ry stay,
    From death he will awaken.
Then we’ll come to see all that life can be:
    Paradise eternally.
    (CHORUS)
He will call; The dead will answer.
They shall live at his command.
For he will have a longing
For the work of his own hand.
So have faith, and do not wonder,
For our God can make us stand.
    And we shall live forever,
As the work of his own hand.
