He just said, 'Don't worry about me because if God thinks it's my time to come home, then it's my time.'
    — Evangeline Ojeda, sister

Ojeda served in the same unit as his wife, Lesliee, whom he married months before his death. While the couple were in Iraq, their 14-month-old son, Angel, stayed with his paternal grandparents in Santa Ysabel.

I was with Ramon in Ft.Riley Kansas with the 568th engineers. I knew him and his wife Lesliee. The last time I talk to him I was giving him praises that he is going to Hawaii serving the Army with the 84th Engineers. I was also stationed there prior to Ft. Riley.

Im glad that he served his country with one of the best engineer unit I have ever served the 84th Engineer Combat Heavy. Ramon is an outstanding soldier always motivated and standout above all. Rest in Best my brother in Arms. I will never forget you.
