He was somebody who would give the other kids a kick in the butt when they needed it. He was the kind of guy who you would want fighting for your country.
    — Chris Herrin, former baseball coach

Rosacker's father was command master chief on the U.S. submarine Alabama when his son was killed. He had tried to discourage his son from enlisting immediately after high school, urging him to pursue his athletic talents in college instead.

I don't know this soldiers as I'm just visiting the LA Times website. I thank him and his family for his dedication to our county. Thank you for keeping America free and protecting our beliefs. It's because heroes like you my very young daughter will be able to live freely in this wonderful country. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! RIP

I DID know this wonderful Marine. He was the "best thing since sliced bread" and I appreciate that you all are keeping his spirit alive. I miss my bud like crazy. He was one of the first people I met when I moved to San Diego. He was warm and welcoming and the funniest person you would ever meet. He LOVED the Marine Corps and gave all that he had for all of us.

He never bowed! He would have your back no matter what. His heart is a thing of legend. Id burn the world on fire to bring my brother back. What he had in is heart, he took to his grave! I remember and will never forget!
