Reali had followed an older brother into the military. She had been corresponding with two sixth-grade classes at Alexander Hamilton K-8 School in Fresno, where she lived. She was planning to meet the students in person when she returned home.

I served with the 353rd CACOM and 432nd CA Bn, so as a Civil Affairs Soldier, I salute SGT. Reali. What makes her death even more poignant is the mission she was a part of: reconstruction of infrastructure and promoting civil society organizations. So very sad.
