26 memories of Rudolph R. Hizon
i didn't know you well but i knew you were a good person. i always saw how much love you had for your siblings.. god bless you, Hero.
Ryan, you are such a great person and you have such a kind heart . You are so nice towards your family and I know that god has other plans for you. I'm so honored to be a part of you're loving family. I just wish I had the chance to really get to know you as my cousin in law. You will be missed forever. RIP
I served with Ryan. He was my best friend and a great figure towards my children. We do what we do knowing that there is a chance that we may never come home. As a matter of fact Hizon told me the night before he deployed that he wasn't. It takes a strong man or my case woman, to hold your head up and put your life at risk so that others can be free and safe. Thats what Ryan did. I am very proud of him and very sad that he's gone. Please don't forget my battle buddies that are still over there.... I miss you guys.... come home safe!
To Rudolph's family, my heart goes out to you. Your loved one gave his life for others and for that so many are grateful. May you search for comfort in the fact that he was such a Brave man. He put others before himself and from prior remarks it sounds like that was simply the kind of person he was. Sounds like he had a heart of gold, was kind and giving. I'm sure he will continue to watch over his loved ones. Thank you Rudolph...
Sp. Hizon, your intelligent gaze reminded me of my students at Virgil Middle School; I told them about you today. Then I came home and told my husband. I wondered if my stepson, Pfc. Ryan Rory O'Connor, knew you. He recently returned from Afghanistan where he was deployed as a medic. Finally, I made a story about Heaven and in my story I imagine other fallen soldiers meeting you. Look for my loved one, LCpl. Daniel Patrick Rose, USMC, KIA January 28, 1969, Vietnam. He may have died a long time ago....but he will take care of you as a brother. Please tell him I love him and still miss him. May Christ's tender mercies envelop you in love and may his compassion embrace your family. St. Matthew 5: "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted."
No one can hurt you now, Sp. Hizon.
I will miss you Kuya! We love you! :(
Tita Nancy and I met Ryan for first time in the Philippines when we visited his mom, then in Los Angeles when he immigrated to the US. The last time we saw him was in Oceanside when the family visited our friend Obet, a retired US Marines. He joined the US Army and was sent to Afghanistan to support the "Operation Enduring Freedom". Now Ryan is in God's hand.
We really appreciated all sacrifices he did for our country to protect our freedom. We salute and honor him for serving the US Army. He is truly an American hero. We are very proud of him and we are very much going to miss him.

To Rudolphs family...I am praying for you during your time of loss and beyond. My heart goes out to you. I am so thankful for the men and women who give their lives for our freedom...Thank you Rudolph<3
We fought for Freedom, we share a common bond, Even though you are gone, You will never be forgotten.
Rudolph "Ryan" Hizon, you will be missed. Thank you for your ultimate service and sacrifice to provide "us" with our freedom. Although, we never met, my father (Tito Obet) and your grandfather and grandmother were childhood friends. They speak proudly of you and your desire to join the service even as a young boy.
I even heard that you went back to Afghanistan this last trip you said good-bye with a heavy heart. Know that you served God, your country, and your family well. Your life and death were not in vain and your legacy will live on. May you rest in peace and your family move on in your honor.
You will never be forgotten.
(Thank you from the grandaughter of an Army Vet (Bernardo Rauto), daughter of a Marine Corps Vet (Roberto Rauto), and wife of a Marine Corps Vet (Rick Y. Shin Sr.)
Hey there Ryan, I am going to miss you like crazy. Although we had fun times for a minute at Sam Houston there, we still talked a lot after I left. I miss the good mornings from you! You had such a big heart and you always knew how to make someone feel better.
I remember you would always steal my gatorade a little at a time, but I knew you were drinking it even though you tried to be sneaky. Every time after that I always thought of you when drinking my gatorade.
From one soldier to another, your service is appreciated and you will be greatly missed. Thank you so much!
To the Rudolph Family, Thank you for your son's service. Truly know that your son is a Hero, He will never be forgotten. My heart is with you and prayers. My God bring you the comfort and peace that you need in this time. I truly know what you for feeling and what you are going through. Sometimes you my feel you are in this by yourself, I am here for you. I lost my son in October 2010. I know the hurt and pain that you are feeling. Know that my condolence and prayer are with you.

As an Air Force member recently retired, I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your son, family member, and fellow member of the Armed Services. Ryan gave his life so others can enjoy the very freedom we all enjoy. The next time you think about complaining about the noise our military planes make when they are practicing or flying overhead, think twice about complaining. Those planes could be enemy planes flying overhead and those who died for us while serving in a war zone could all be invain. God Bless you Ryan and thanks for stepping up and serving honorably in the United States Army!
I only saw you twice but i know that your a good person. May u rest and peace. You will be missed by your family and friends.I know that ninong Dolfo is very proud of u.
Ryan was my daughter's high school classmate. I met him only once...i just remember him to be a kind and good man. My daughters friend, Gianne - posted his pictures in fb since he as a kid until high school. I was touched seeing his picture where he was making a "salute" when he was a little boy. boy, this man knew what he wanted even when he was small... to serve his countrymen. i salute you Ryan. RIP kiddo! May the Lord welcome you in His kingdom.
Maraming salamat sa iyo (thank you very much)!!! We will never forget you and don't forget to look out for our safety from above!!! Hooah!!!
YOU WILL BE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER
We will miss you so much
Dearest Ryan my nephew
I love you!
You were a great guy. I am glad we went through basic at Benning together and had the chance to get to know each other. Its a different type of friend who crawls through the mud, encourages you to continue when you feel you can't, picks you up when you fall down, and holds your ruck when it is too much for you at times. I was astonished to hear the news and you will be missed brother.
As I leave this country, I cant help but wish that some day you would too. After seeing the reality of this place it doesnt really surprise me that it took someone I know. It could have been any of us, but God called you. Save a spot for me in heaven. R.I.P. Hizon
Thank you kuya ryan for everything,i wish i your still here,we can't see you anymore, but we can still see you in our memories...i know your still here with us,watching, smiling, you never changed, you are still the brave person i know, but, you have to go,no one lives forever, god knows whats best for us,even though you are not here with us,we never changed,i know we cried, but we are still strong...i love you, thanks for everything.
Well, while on mission today I heard the news of this tragic incident. I almost cried, but I knew deep down that I had to get the mission done then I could remember the times that we had. I went through Infantry School with Hizon and even though the times got rough, he still hung in there the entire way. I'm proud to have served with him and He will be forever remembered in my heart. I will miss you Brother. Infantry Leads The Way! And to his family, I am so very sorry for your loss, I wish I was there with him.
To The Family of Rudolph R. Hizon:
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear family member. When we see death, especially prematurely, it causes us to cherish life that much more. I find comfort in the Bible's promise of a future resurrection (John 5: 28). Rudolph will live again, but he will see a paradise earth. I hope you find solace in this promise as I do.
With Sincerest Condolences
A song of hope and comfort:
He Will Call (Song 111)
(Job 14:13-15)
1. Life, like a mist, appears for just a day,
Then disappears tomorrow.
All that we are can quickly fade away,
Replaced with tears and sorrow.
If a man should die, can he live again?
Hear the promise God has made:
(Chorus)
2. Friends of our God, though they may pass away,
Will never be forsaken.
All those asleep who in God’s mem’ry stay,
From death he will awaken.
Then we’ll come to see all that life can be:
Paradise eternally.
(CHORUS)
He will call; The dead will answer.
They shall live at his command.
For he will have a longing
For the work of his own hand.
So have faith, and do not wonder,
For our God can make us stand.
And we shall live forever,
As the work of his own hand.
( John 6:40; 11:11, 43; Jas. 4:14.)
