Toledo-Pulido was smuggled over the mountains from Mexico with his older brother and mother when he was 7 years old. He became a legal resident in 1999 and toiled in the fields of the Central Valley with an uncle, picking crops.

His story of sacrifice cannot be ignored, no matter what his means of entering this country. His is the type of character that has made this nation great. We are indebted to him.
