We have a yorkie/shih-tzu named lucky. It has taken a series of miracles for lucky to be with us today. Lucky's Grandma, Roxy, gave birth to Lucky's mom as an only puppy. Roxy had a hernia in which the uterus was coming through the abdominal wall. This event should have prevented Roxy from birthing anything, much less a single puppy. Tootie, who is Lucky's mother, survived an attack by a coyote and later gave birth to Lucky. Lucky, or Mr. Luck Luck as we call him, earned his name first when he was birthed as a breach and wasn't breathing. The mother finally coaxed life out of the dog and about 4 months later he continued his lucky streak. While the family was sleeping he found his way into the garbage and discovered the tasty meatiness of hot dogs. Without chewing he began to eat the dogs and one ended up lodged in his throat. Hearing the dog gasping and yelping from fear I was able to wake up and dislodge the hot dog from the lucky dog. Lucky felt he shouldn't stop there, after all he has escaped doom twice already. During his teething phase, he found that extension cords taste more delicious than they look. Christmas time came around and the lights of the Christmas tree as well as remembering how good electrical cords taste we too much for Lucky's will power. After a quick trip to animal emergency, and a mild burn to his tongue and gums, Lucky made a full recovery. If this weren't enough, Lucky being a small and curious dog, has been attacked, without injury, by a few other dogs in the neighborhood. Lucky has really lived up to his name and we love him every day. We realize how lucky we all are to have Lucky and hope that he will not put his name to the test anymore.
