Rescue dog. Name given by niece.
I got her "Indy" because I got her the day after Independence Day and she got her "independence" if you will, from the animal shelter.
My dog Zina is a Belgian malinois who was thrown away by a puppy mill or other equally repugnant individual when she was only 4 weeks old, because she had and still has some flaws - probably caused by inbreeding or other bad practices by those same people.
Her name is short for Ragazzina, or Little Girl in Italian. She weighs 105 pounds and isn't so little now, but she could stand on my hand with all four feet when I found her.
I want to jump much.
JACK RUSSELL TERRIER THOUGHT WAS OLD ENGLISH NAME
She is a mainly black and tan Pom and only her little paws are white, they look like Q-tips.
I have a Chihuahua named Pesci. It suits him perfectly, as he is tiny with soulful brown eyes, is very spirited, and quite "amusing" ehehe...
I had a bloodhound back in 1971 named Plunger. The breed and name came to me one night while taking a bath. Bloodhounds are not good inside dogs; they're oily and slobber a lot. My live-in girlfriend at the time gave me an ultimatum. Either the dog goes or she goes. I let her go. Plunger disappeared 2 weeks later.
When I got the dog I couldn't decide for days. A friend and I were talking on the phone as I was looking at my new puppy and he just looked so manly. So I tossed around the name Mr. Tibbs. My friend will swear that she came up with the name, but I am sure it was I who came up with it. I thought it would be a cute name and my sister agreed, saying it would be conversational. So it stuck. Amazingly pretty much everyone gets a chuckle out of it because they know who Virgil Tibbs is. That's amazing. So that's how he got his name. Now the funny thing is I call him Tiblets, Tibby Tibbs, Pookiebear, Pookaluuka, Snooky(rhymes w/Pookie), and Scooterbug. Why? I just don't know. I have so much love for the dog, one name just doesn't seem to be enough!:)
Bacon and Balthazar (but we call Balthazar, Bubba for short -- it also fits him better, um, he's not that wise)
