We love the fruit that tastes so sweet, and she is a darling Clementine
We did not find our Dodger, she found us. She was a year old Austrailian Cattledog/German Shepherd mix who had been sleeping under our bushes. Not being dog people, we called Animal Control to come and pick her up. They came, but when they reached down to get her, she dodged them. The Animal Control people left and within an hour she was back, in the same spot. Suffice it to say, we became dog people that day thirteen years ago, and Dodger has been a member of our family ever since.
I have an 8 year old white male pit bull. He just wandered into our yard to sun himself. At that time, we had a black and tan coon dog that befriended this little dog; so I began to give him water and food. He was scared, but never growled or nipped. One day I called for him and he just stood there for a second, took off into a full run...right into my arms. Cracker has been by baby since then.Don't be afraid of this wonderful breed, educate yourself. Go meet a few pits; you will change your mind!
I chose to name my dog Shylo because it was different and I wanted something unique because my dog is a Shih Tzu and such a special little dog.
That's just part of his name - his full name is Beni Hana Hou - (Hana Hou means encore or one more time in Hawaiian). And Beni's now a full time Hawaii dawg!!
We have always had dogs, mostly Australian Shepherds, labs and we had to be talked into rescuing a pit bull mix from our local Rescue group. Fiona is the best dog we have ever had. She is considerate, wonderful with our cats, and completely reliable with all kids. She was a bit dog-aggressive when we got her but she is over that now. I can't imagine a better dog.
My nickname was Missy growing up. When I received my dog on my thirteenth birthday, the only name that suited her was Missy. To make a distinction when calling us, her middle name became Josephine, or Jo for short. She lived fifteen years. Two years ago she passed and I still miss her so.
We named out Chi-Terrier mix Foxy because she has foxy like ears. So the name fit. She is our little Fox!
My husband rescued our Dodger late one summer evening as he was driving down Rosemead Blvd. Dodger, a stray four month old Boxer/Shepherd puppy at the time, was "dodging" cars and miraculously ran straight into my husband's arms when he heard my husband's whistle. Dodger is now six years old and is a beloved member of our family. His name fits him perfectly.
When I saw this cute little boxer/mastiff mix puppy...I was instantly in love with her. "Bella" means beautiful in Italian...so...what better name for this little beauty???
