Big fan of the show "Dexter" even bigger fan of the character Sgt. Doakes
I was trying to pick names and wanted something unique, but common. I ended up naming her Maigee, which is almost like Maggie, but pronounced with a longer "a" so it is closer to Meggie. Unique, yet fairly common!
I adopted a three-year-old female chocolate Pomeranian from a breeder in Louisiana who was downsizing. As usual, I went through several trial names before deciding on Kuma. She looks like a fuzzy little brown bear so it fits her well. And it's not prissy or frou-frou like so many toy dog names! I'm of Japanese descent so I knew it was a very common name, but hey, it's still pretty unusual here so that works for me.
She just looked like it.She is an 8 week old american pitbull terrier,
Our dog is named Noosa because of the place in Australia, where we lived.
I 0wned a famous japanese white akita whom I called Kuma however; he was named and registered as a puppy before he was given to me as is japanese tradition. My dog became injured and I later developed a prosthetic leg of which he began to run in races and further inspire challenged children. For awhile I thought that I had the only dog named Kuma.
When we go on a short as we have, Sparky loves to sit on our lap to be close to us and some times get in the way of driving. This problem was solved one winter trip we took. When we turned on the windshield wipers he was so skiddesh to the point he scooted to the back and hid behind passenger seat on the floor. He is fine in front however if no wipers are on. Hooray for Yorkies! B.
My Dog Kia Had to put her to sleep on 2/19/10 she had a brain tumor. Me and my two son's named her, We thought the name was so beautiful. Kia was my oldest son's dog, my son died in 2003. Me and my youngest son really had lots emotions over this dog, it was like she was part of my son, being that it was his dog, and ever time I would see her, I would think of my son. My youngest son said if there is a heaven for dogs, He certainly hope that Kia is with her rightful owner, his brother in Heaven.
My wifes family has a history of calling pets names beginning with B. There have been Brindi, Bruno, Brandy and Basil. My addition to that list was Bacchus (The God of Wine). I always loved the name and thus our Dalmation is Bacchus. A more peaceful and laid back creature you cannot imagine. He has a great "smarl" and talks behind our backs when reprimanded.
My dog is called Shei because I believe it means life. She is a cross between Fox Terrier/Labrador and looks like a miniture Golden Retriever. Lovely personality and nature. Very athletic
