Carey Wilson was a pioneer motion picture producer and writer who created the famous Andy Hardy and Dr. Kildare film series.

As a producer he contributed to the rise of many notable screen stars including Lana Turner, Mickey Rooney, Judy Garland, Kathryn Grayson, Esther Williams, Margaret O'Brien and Red Skelton.

His films included "The Postman Always Rings Twice," "Green Dolphin Street" and "Scaramouche."

He wrote the screenplays for the first production of "Ben-Hur," "Mutiny on the Bounty" and "He Who Gets Slapped."

After graduating from the Industrial Art School in Philadelphia, Wilson became a film salesman for Famous Players, Fox and First National pictures.

His first work in the creative process of motion pictures was at the Peerless Film Studio in Ft. Lee, N.J. He was brought to Hollywood by Samuel Goldwyn as a film writer.

While in retirement he narrated and produced a number of documentary films for the Air Force.
