Claire Windsor was a clowning, flirting, beautiful sexpot of the silent era. She had a chauffeur, maid, butler and the world at her feet.

Windsor, who came to Hollywood to seek her fortune, was pulled out of the ranks of extras by director Allan Dwan and made a leading lady.

A long career that spanned three decades, 45 silent films and seven talkies was climaxed by her final film in 1952, appropriately entitled "The Last Act."

Other screen credits included "Captain Lash" and "Midstream" with Victor McLaglen in the late 1920s and in the early 30s she toured the nation with Al Jolson in the production of "Wonder Bar."
